Specimen Code Number: 091017/3
Learn more about: Malachite
  Cerussite
Size: Miniature
6.6x5.0x4.5 cm
Location: Tsumeb Mine
Otjikoto Region
Namibia
Description: A very fine example of Malachite pseudomorphs after azurite crystals from the Tsumeb mine in Namibia. The flattened Malachite blades are to over 5 cm long and 2.5 cm wide, mostly with good terminations. The crystals are mainly matt with a slight satin sheen and towards their bases many have a delicate peppermint frosting. Where some of the terminations are broken, the crystalline form of the deep-green Malachite is revealed. Blocky and platy, creamy-white Cerussite grows on the Malachite in many areas.
