Description: This is an outstanding specimen of the silver sulpharsenide Proustite and silver-iron sulphide, Argentopyrite, from the classic locality of Pöhla in the Schwarzenberg District of Erzgebirge, Saxony, Germany. A good sized cabinet specimen is composed entirely of a granular mixture of crystallised Pyrite and Proustite in a light creamy-white ground-mass; some product of the skarn mineralisation in this old mining district. All surfaces of the specimens are completely covered with equant Pyrite crystals up to about 1 mm, but mainly sub-millimetre, together with hundreds of Proustite crystals, nearly all larger than the Pyrite, with many to about 3 mm. All the Proustite crystals are well crystallised and are bright metallic silver due to oxidation. The oxidation is thorougher as no traces of typical "Proustite red" are visible.
